Hope of His Calling

Hope of His Calling

Paul prayer for the Ephesians is that their eyes of understanding to be enlightened In order to know God’s hope of calling them. This prayer is not limited to the Ephesian church, it is for all believers. We must pray this prayer until it’s realized in us.
Knowledge is the result of our eyes of understanding being enlightened.
WHAT IS THE EYE OF UNDERSTANDING?
The eye of understanding is the mind( 2 Cor 4:4; Matt 6:22-23 )
The challenge some believers have today is that their mind is not enlightened, though, they read the word, yet it appears as a dead letter to them. For us to live out the reality of Who is within us, our minds must be enlightened continually. We must come to the awareness of all that the word says. This can be by trusting the Holy Spirit to teach us as we study the word. He teaching us is revelation. By this, our minds will be enlightened to know our position, rights and privileges in Christ.
WHAT IS THE HOPE OF GOD’S CALLING?
The hope of God’s calling us is the same as the purpose of God for creating man in the beginning, before the fall( Genesis 1:26).
The hope of God’s calling us is to reflect His Son on earth and to deal with the devil. The Father want men to see Him in us and this will be by measuring up to Christ in all things Ephesians 4:13-15.
Galatians 1:15-16 ” But when it pleased God who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace. 16. To reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen… ”
Before we can preach Him( Christ), He must first be revealed to us and in us. The revelation of Christ In us is not something we do by ourselves; it is not something we struggle to accomplish, it’s the Father who does it in us( 2 Corinthians 3:18). He does this by His Spirit in us.
THE MEANING OF CHRIST BEING REVEALED IN US.
# 1 Timothy 3:16 ” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was made manifest in the flesh…”
The scripture above is directly talking about Christ, but are we different from Him? No
. 1 John 3:17 says ” … As He is, so are we in this world.” Therefore, this scripture is also talking about us because we are one Spirit and one bread with Him.
Christ being revealed in us is godliness which means manifesting God’s character in us. It is living out the God life on our inside. Manifested the God within, outwardly.
God’s character is love because He is love. That is His person.
By this, we become the expression of God’s person on earth and men will glorify God In us( Hebrews 1:3).
We are not to be the express image of God’s person alone, we must also be the brightness of His glory.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY?
It means to be the effulgence of the Father’s glory. He has called us to glory and He want to make known the riches of His glory on us. When theses riches are manifested in us, we become he brightness of His glory. Part of the riches of this glory is the exercise of the miraculous.
John 2:11 ” This is the beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and MANIFESTED FORTH HIS GLORY and His disciples believed in Him”.
Acts 14:6-15 ” …And when the people saw WHAT PAUL HAD DONE, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, the gods are come down to us in the likeness of men…And saying, sir, why do ye these things? We are men of like passion with you… ”
The Holy Spirit permitted these scriptures, to be recorded in the Bible, for us to see that the miraculous should not be something scarce in our living. The challenge is that believers are not growing in the knowledge of Christ the way we are expected to grow. The miraculous I am talking about Is not the one exercised on believers by other believers. The new man is a miracle, both mature and the immature, and we are to exercise miracle on unbelievers, for them to see truly that we serve the only true God who is our Father and for them to know that Jesus truly lives. What pagans called gods will become non-entities to them, when they see the Holy Ghost manifesting His power in us. By this, unbelievers will not only come to our light. Their kings, presidents, ministers, chancellor will come to the brightness of our rising – the rising of our glory.
It is not enough to manifest the character of the Lord known as the fruit of the spirit( Galatians 5:22) we must also manifest the power of the spirit( Luke 4:14).
WHY?
There are so many people that the Lord’s character in us will draw their attention to God before we preach to them, but there are some who must see miracles before they believe. Let’s us earnestly desire the two.
The Lord has given us what we need to reflect Him in character and power. It is the word and His Spirit in us. Therefore, let us go forth and take charge of our worlds.
