The Riches of His Glory 3

The Riches of His Glory 3

After being aware of all things the Father has given us in union with Christ, we must grow to enjoy them all. Though they are real and rich in us, that is, in our spirit which is one with Christ Jesus, but we must not allow them to remain in our mind alone. We must bring them to bear for a real experience daily. It is good to be aware of them and bring them out from within to enjoy them without.

John said ” I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers ” 3 John 2. What Apostle John wished is the same wish of our Father to all who believe in the First Begotten. The Father wants us to prosper and be in health always; He wants prosperity and health to become tangible and obvious in our lives but this begins with our soul prospering first.

What does it mean to prosper in the soul?

This will be well understood by understanding what the soul is.
The soul is the seat of the human life. It has three compartment known as the mind, will and emotion. Of these three, the mind is the strongest of all because it influences the other two by the knowledge it is exposed to.

The soul is prospering when it continuously receives the knowledge of all that the Lord has made available to us which are in our spirits. The Lord said all His springs are in us (Psalms 87:7 ). These springs are the loads of blessings of the Father in us; they are the good things which are in us in Christ Jesus ( Philemon 1:6 ) and this is so because we are united with Christ ( 1 Corinthians 6:17 ).

From this, we can see that the first requisite to enjoying all that the Father has deposited in us in our union with Christ is KNOWLEDGE. That is why Paul prayed that the eyes of our understanding which is the mind may be enlightened to know what are the riches of His inheritance in the saints.

The knowledge of this is not far fetched. They are all written in the Bible. All that the Father has given to you are in you but says in His word that is in you is in you. All we need is just to engage the Holy Spirit in us in order to decipher them from the Bible. If believers don’t engage the Holy Spirit in studying the word, he will not see anything. He might even be reading the Bible, yet not seeing anything or having a wrong interpretation of it.

Engaging the Holy Spirit, gives us access to the depth of the word. He gives understanding that makes us own the word. This is called revelation knowledge or spiritual understanding not head knowledge that only puffs up.
Ephesians 1:17 ” that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. ”
1 Corinthians 2:9-12 ” But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of manThe things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. ”

John16:12-15 ” “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. ”

After having the understanding of these things in the mind, the will must be influenced to the point of wanting to have them tangibly. If truly the knowledge we have is by revelation and not head knowledge of the word, it will influence our willingness to want to enjoy the tangibility of it. The understanding would stir up the faith of Christ in us to the point we start declaring or confessing them. Therefore the second requirements to enjoy them is by FAITH DECLARATION.

Faith declaration is an evidence that you understand and acknowledge them all.
Isaiah 8:20 ” To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. ”

The Father wants us to speak according to His word and not according to the circumstance around us. They are false image appearing real. The true picture of our lives is painted in the word spoken of the Lord concerning us. We are people begotten of the Father by the word, which means the fabric of our being ( spirit ) constitute the word and our destiny is fabricated in His word, that is why we must declare the word. There is something the Lord said in the verse above. He said, ” If they do not speak according to His word, it is because there is no light in them. The light in the verse means understanding. It means the reason why many are not confessing the word is because there is no understanding of the word in them.

Though all who believe in Christ have the very faith of Christ in them, but this faith will not be stirred up to work if there is no understanding of the word. I am saying this in order for us to engage the Holy Spirit to know all that the Father has freely given to us to enjoy.

2 Corinthians 4:13 ” And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, ”

What faith declaration does is that it
makes our inheritance tangible enough to is our creative ability.Gen 1:2, Ezek. 37:6

DELIBERATE ENGAGEMENT is Another thing that happens when we have come to know the inheritance in us. It is an exercise of faith. It is being wise with the understanding of the word to the point of applying it in every situation. Faith confession creates avenues through which the inheritance can become tangible and we engage them deliberately.

I will briefly give examples of two people that deliberately engaged their inheritance.

Acts 3:1-8,16 ” Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength…. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. ”

Acts 14:6-10 ” 6 they became aware of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region. 7 And they were preaching the gospel there 8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. 9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked. ”

Through the passages above, we could see how Peter and Paul deliberately engaged what they knew they had. They knew they had the miraculous in themselves and they administered it to the two men.
You also have the same in you. Having the understanding that you have this, you must deliberately use it on yourself and people around you in the name of Jesus. It will work. By this, you become a blessing to others.

This is not only limited to the miraculous. All other blessing of the Lord on our inside also follow the same process. In your business, you engage the blessing in you and you will see great results.

At this juncture it is good to know that we are greatly blessed in the Lord Jesus who qualified us for this inheritance. There is nothing to be envious about in unbelievers. We have the true blessings. We are to be a light to them, a model of conviction to their consciences by reflecting all the attribute of the Lord, even if they willingly ignore it. And to evidently show case all that the Father has given us by being deliberate in engaging them.

Believers are not complainers, rather, we are to render solution to all unpalatable situations in our surroundings.
Enjoy all the inheritance in you to the praise of the Father’s glory.
